HISTORIC PARK CITY OFFERS MOTHER’S DAY SPECIALS, MUSEUM LECTURES & NEW GALLERY EXHIBITION THIS MAY

The Historic Park City Alliance welcomes guests to enjoy May on Main Street with free parking in the China Bridge garage all month long. Music and theatre performances take center stage at The Egyptian Theatre, while restaurants offer Mother’s Day specials, and a new exhibition from Katherine Heigl is unveiled at Gallery MAR.

Spring is in full force in historic Park City, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to experience a full calendar of events with us. Whether celebrating Mom, catching a show or history lesson, or soaking up fresh gallery exhibits, we invite our patrons to wander, explore, and revel in all that our local businesses have to offer.

Visitors to Historic Park City can enjoy free parking in the China Bridge garage beginning now through Saturday, July 1, 2024. Construction continues on the installation of a new water main on sections of Main Street, and city crews will be working hard to keep disruptions to a minimum.

Park City Follies at The Egyptian Theatre

Saturday, May 4 – Sunday, May 5

Enjoy the annual lampoon of all things Park City starring an all-local cast. This parody features live music, singing, dancing, and short films, and is a fundraiser for the tuition-free YouTheatre Program. Always a sell-out show!

The Lusitania Disaster Touches Park City Lecture at Park City Museum

Wednesday, May 8 | 5 – 6 p.m.

Hosted by David Nicholas and Stuart Stanek, this lecture explores the sinking of the luxury liner Lusitania in 1915 and Parkite John Edward “Jack” Inman’s fate who was aboard the ship.

Sam Bush at The Egyptian Theatre

Thursday, May 9 – Saturday, May 11

Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Instrumentalist by the Americana Music Association, Sam Bush has influenced present-day vanguards such as the Punch Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, and Greensky Bluegrass.

Mother’s Day Cocktails with Alpine Distilling

Sunday, May 12 | noon – 5 p.m.

The Park City Social Aid & Pleasure Club will be open on Mother’s Day offering specialty cocktails and retail bottle sales.

Mother’s Day Prix-Fixe Menu at Butcher’s Chop House

Sunday, May 12 | 4 – 9 p.m.

Celebrate mom with a 3-course prix fixe menu ($65 per person) with an optional wine pairing ($30 per person). Begin with a choice of soup or salad before selecting between hearty mains of airline chicken, New York strip, blackened ahi tuna, or pesto gnocchi, and finish with your choice of a sorbet trio, crème brulee, or brownie sundae. Alpenglobe reservations require the 3-course prix fixe menu, but the dining room and bar (21+ only) will also offer the full dinner menu. Reservations available on RESY.

Mother’s Day Tapas Brunch at Riverhorse on Main

Sunday, May 12 | 11a.m. – 2 p.m.

Indulge in an all-you-can-eat Mother’s Day Tapas Brunch with an exquisite selection of bite-sized wonders, meticulously crafted by Riverhorse’s esteemed chef using the freshest, most flavorful ingredients. $125 for adults, $75 for kids 12 and under.

Gwyneth Goes Skiing

Thursday, May 16 – Sunday, May 26

This brand new show is a very silly story of justice, betrayal and optometry that makes the audience the jury, asking them to decide who's guilty and who's gooped. This is a fundraiser for The Egyptian's tuition-free YouTheatre Program. Presented by Pleasance Theatre Trust of London and sponsored by The Park Record.

Park City Museum FREE Day

Saturday, May 18 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Illustrating Park City’s rich history from booming silver mining town to world-class skiing destination, the award-winning Park City Museum offers interactive exhibits, artifacts, and the city’s original basement jail. Admission is FREE on select days for friends and family to enjoy the museum. Enjoy the Postcards from Mecca: The California Desert Photographs by Susie Keef Smith and Lula Mae Graves exhibit now until July 7, 2024.

Edward Ferry Park City’s Capitalist Lecture at Park City Museum

Wednesday, May 22 | 5 – 6 p.m.

Given by Sandy Brumley and Michael O’Malley, this lecture explores the financial exploits of Edward P. Ferry, who was among the earliest arrivals to Park City in 1873.

Music for the Mines at Park City Museum

Wednesday, May 29 | 6 – 9 p.m.

The Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History invite guests to an evening of “Music for the Mines” featuring dueling pianos brought to you by Rich Wyman and the Killer Keyz. This special evening is hosted by Pendry Park City and includes cocktails, dinner, and more. This event is in support of the museum’s efforts to save the Silver King headframe building located on Park City Mountain. Tickets are $200 – $275 and can be purchased here

David Archuleta at The Egyptian Theatre

Billboard Chart topper David Archuleta became a star at age 16 on American Idol and continues to charm live audiences with his angelic voice, magnetic smile, and dynamic stage presence.

Katherine Heigl: Solo Exhibition at Gallery MAR

Friday, May 31

Experience the first ever solo exhibition for Katherine Heigl, an artist in many genres and a long-time collector and friend of Gallery MAR. The exhibition will include a wide variety of media and genres, and all sales will benefit her family’s non-profit, the Jason Debus Foundation. Founded in 2008 by Nancy and Katherine Heigl, the Foundation serves to end animal cruelty and abuse and celebrates the memory of their beloved son and brother, Jason.

Park City Gallery Stroll

Friday, May 31 | 6 – 9 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of art, food, drinks, music, and great company while strolling along scenic Main Street in Park City. Participating galleries open their doors to the public for a fun, casual cultural experience. Look for Park City Gallery Association flags. Free event the last Friday of every month.
