2016 Halloween on Main Street

Monday October 31st, 2016

Halloween on Main Street has become a favorite event to Park City locals! Trick or treat from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Stroll down to lower Main Street at 5:00 p.m. to see the famous Dog Parade! Dress up your pooch in your, I mean, his favorite costume!

It is that spooky time of year again and Halloween is almost here!  In Park City, Halloween is sometimes a fall holiday and sometimes a winter holiday…it all depends on the weather served up that day. But no matter what nature hands us, Halloween on Main Street is not to be missed.

Every year the merchants on Main Street open up their doors to ghosts, ghouls, and goblins galore….along with princesses, batmen/girls, teenage mutant ninja turtles, and anything else topping the popular costume lists this year. The street is packed (and closed to cars for the afternoon) with kids and parents trick-or-treating at the local businesses from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. So head up to Historic Main Street with your best costumes and join the fun.

And of course it wouldn’t be Park City if the dogs weren’t included in the festivities. Following trick-or-treating is the Howl-O-Ween parade. The parade begins at 5 o’clock on Lower Main Street owners/parents show off their costumed pets as they stroll up Main Street to Heber Avenue. Even if you don’t have a dog, this is fun to watch.

Want to ensure accessing Main Street is a treat rather than a trick? We have a few ideas:

  1. If you are coming with two-legged creatures take the bus! If you must drive to town park at the Park City School District and hop on public transit there.
  2. Parking is available at Park City Mountain. (No overnight parking, however!)
  3. City Transit, City Transit, City Transit! It's free, frequent and easy!
  4. Carpool - Meet up with your friends at home and jump in one car. Walk or bike - Have you seen all the bike racks in Historic Park City? There are plenty of spots to lock up your bike once you arrive and it is downhill when you are leaving.

There are lots of events leading up to our famous Howl-o-Ween! Check out our event calendar for specifics on Carrie The Musical at Egyptian Theater, The Spirits and Spirits Costume Ball at OP Rockwell, Tim Burton Weekend at Flanagan's on Main, or the latest Halloween themed painting session at The Paint Mixer!

Enjoy….and have a spooktacular night!
