Main Street Sidewalk Construction Update

October 3, 2018 - Matt Twombley, Park City Municipal

Although the Main Street Sidewalk project has had considerable delays and it was unsure if it would proceed this year, the City Council last Thursday voted to proceed with the Main Street Sidewalk project to be completed this Autumn.  The project continues the reconstruction of the Main Street sidewalks with granite curb, concrete and granite sidewalk, street lights, utility upgrades, benches and planters.  The project starts where the project finished on the south side of TMI up the West side of Main Street and end at/in the park adjacent to the Grappa restaurant.  The re-construction will take place in 2 stages.  The first stage will start at the Star Hotel and go up to the garage entrance to 205 Main Street.  Each stage will take approximately 3 weeks.

The construction is slated to begin on October 1, 2018.   There will be some restrictions but access to the businesses will be maintained with ramps, temporary sidewalks in the street and other measures.  I will be coordinating directly with all the businesses adjacent to the work to discuss the schedule, details of the project and meet with managers and/or staff to coordinate the sidewalk and utility improvements.  If you have any questions or need any more details, please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail, phone or my cell at 435-729-9012.
