In Park City, our four seasons are a little different than you may be accustom. We have summer, Indian summer, winter and shoulder season.

Love it or hate it over the years our shoulder seasons have gotten shorter and shorter, which means you must take advantage of the slower pace while it lasts. Sure, shoulder season means some of our restaurants, boutiques and galleries take a little time for themselves and close up shop for a few weeks, but as the landscape of the street shifts we see more and more restaurants, boutiques and galleries remain open throughout the year. If fact, the majority remain open daily over the next few weeks.

We’ve listed a few of our favorite reasons for loving shoulder season below. Why do you love shoulder season?

Each peak summer and winter season, parking becomes more and more of a challenge, but during shoulder season you are always able to find a spot and this spring parking on Main Street is on us. This year, Historic Park City is offering free parking through June 13 to all visitors with a free downloadable voucher.

Smaller Crowds:

It seems like each year Park City receives more and more visitors. We won’t deny we love the vibrancy, but a small part of us loves the solitude of the shoulder seasons. It seems we all have a little more time for meaningful connections with friends, neighbors, and newcomers as we stroll up and down the street.

Historic Park City offers live theater, the Park City Museum and a variety of galleries to enjoy big city culture in our charming mountain town.

Shops up and down the street are busy making room for summer inventory, which means winter merchandise is available at great prices. I know we are all in summer mode, but winter will come again.

After a season in winter clothing we could all use some pampering! Main Street spas and salons are open and ready to help you look your summer best.

We polled our member merchants and found that the open merchants greatly outweigh those that are closed. Don’t believe me? Check out the list below! Subject to change. Additional businesses may be open.
