For those of you who watch The Bachelor, you know that the sentiment, “this is the perfect place to fall in love” gets tossed around a lot. When you decide to make Historic Main Street the venue for your next date night, you might find that as cheesy as it may sound, that’s a pretty true statement. (In fact, The Bachelor has even been known to visit Park City for a special one-on-one before.)
Your idea of a perfect date night may be the tried and true dinner and a show classic, or maybe you and your special someone are looking for something more interactive. Keep reading for our take on the perfect date night (actually you are going to need a few nights to take advantage of all of these ideas).
Classic and Traditional
Grab dinner at one of the many romantic restaurants on Main Street and catch a show afterwards. It may seem cliché and uninventive, but then again why mess with a classic. And in this case, you can let the charm of the historic Park City set the mood for you.
The trick is going to be picking the restaurant. There are literally more than 70 restaurants on Main Street to choose from. Whether you’re craving Italian, sushi, steak, Thai, or something you’ve never even heard of before, you’ll find it.
Ideally, you and your date are still feelin’ it at this point in the evening and you don’t want the night to end. You may not get a private concert (Bachelor-style), but you can get a pretty intimate concert almost any night of the week in Park City.
Park City Live, Deer Valley Ski Resort, and The Spur all have live music regularly. The Egyptian Theater puts on live performances of plays and musicals interspersed with standup comedy acts if concerts aren’t the feel you’re going for.
After the show, once the moon and stars have risen over Main Street, you’d be hard pressed to find a more romantic setting. Take a leisurely stroll down Main Street and stop into High West Distillery for a nightcap before calling it an evening.
It may seem like a standard date: dinner, show, drinks. But then again, even the most unimaginative outings done in a magical setting don’t feel so run-of-the-mill. From here, it’s up to you to get the rose.
