This month's #HistoricPC winner Nattapol and his wife have been visiting Park City from Minnesota for winter vacations since 2009. Read more to find out how they enjoy Park City off the slopes. We loved the filter Nattapol used on his captures from the street.
My wife and I first visited Park City during the winter of 2009. We were planning a ski vacation and our avid skier friend suggested Park City because of the snow quality and convenience. Since we were not extreme skiers by any means, the idea of having après-ski activities seemed very inviting.
Coming from the arctic climate of Minnesota, arriving on a gorgeous winter day of Park City felt like a beach vacation. The ski resorts were world-class, the slope condition was excellent, and the Historic Main Street had us at hello.
After a full day skiing, we love strolling along the Main Street and soaking in the breezy early night air. Oftentimes, we found ourselves debating the restaurant choices that would fit our mood for dinner since there are so many to choose from. The Main Street has different things for everyone; from the variety of lovely stores to buy a little something for people at home, an ice cream shop that smells like a waffle heaven, to the charming historic buildings that remind visitors of the old mining days of Park City.
For us, Park City feels like that childhood beach house your family kept returning to every summer. Having returned so many times, it is a comfort knowing where everything is and a delight discovering new hidden gems every year. Park City makes us feel like we can forget about those long days at work, relax, and just enjoy. With that being said, see you again this winter!
