It was about 2 years ago that my wife and I started discussing a move. Our kids were starting to enjoy the outdoors and getting to the age where we felt a move would be good. The big question was where? I don’t need to tell the readers of this blog why Park City won the answer to that question: Accessibility, Schools, Parks, Trails, Resorts, Weather and Great People with Great Attitudes.

I have enjoyed photography as a hobby for over 20 years. There are times when I can’t have a DSLR in hand.  I find with an Iphone and Instagram, one can have fun with photography and stay active taking pictures for those times when your equipment is not at your side. Now always having my phone combined with the scenery in and around Park City can make it difficult to run an errand (or take a run / ride) without stopping to capture something spectacular.

Before moving to Park City, I ran a design – build renovation firm where capturing before and after images of projects was very inspiring to me. I enjoy the visual side of the business. Now that I am working with PJ Builders in Park City handling marketing and sales – I thought I would create an Instagram account along with our regular outlet for photos:  Houzz, Facebook and our website - pjbuilders.com. I figured the Instagram account could include not only examples of our projects but also some fun shots from around town. We have a really nice blend of work from Custom Homes to Unique Old Town Renovations, so I am never at a loss for visual content.

#HistoricPC August Winner

This picture was taken on a Friday afternoon in early August. I was exploring Old Town and decided to stop by the No Name Saloon and have a beer on the rooftop. A typical Park City summer afternoon provided the deep dark blue sky backdrop with just a few white clouds. I liked the scene unfolding below while looking up the street. The Historic Main Street Trolley was making its way down so I waited in order to add the extra character to the scene. Thank you to #HistoricPC for liking the image. I enjoy capturing light and being able to share it with others.
