Colored lights strung across Main Street is a long standing tradition in Park City.  Every year Park City's Parks Department turns on the lights the day after Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday season.

With Park City's commitment to Sustainability the lights received an upgrade a few years ago which has gone unnoticed by most.  Three years ago the holiday lights were changed out to LED lights which use less power.  The City has also seen a decrease of 75% in the power bill by the change in bulb type.

To add to Park City's committment, the City purchanse Blue Sky credits through Rocky Mountain Power to offset the energy use of the Main Street lights (as well as other City-owned holiday lights).
