As spring finds its way to Park City, we Parkites begin to look forward to the upcoming summer. We’ve told you a time or two about our favorites for summer fun, but we have yet to tell you about the upcoming summer construction schedule.
As a town up in our years, beautification projects are necessary to, well, keep ourselves the charming township you’ve come to expect. A little work goes a long way as we attempt to age ever so gracefully. Never fear, access to merchants remains a top priority of construction crews and is not expected to be prohibited.
Work in 2017 continues the infrastructure improvements that have been taking place in Historic Park City for the last several years. The 2017 project includes installing a new granite curb, new water meters, granite pavers within a concrete band, new streetlights, new benches, trashcans and removable planters/pots at the bulb-outs. The 2017 work will take place between Treasure Mountain Inn and Burns Cowboy Shop. Work is expected to begin the week of May 22, and run through September.
Continued access to Historic Park City merchants remains a top priority with minimal impacts expected to merchants. Work will take place in 100’ sections taking approximately two weeks per section. Temporary access to merchants will be available, but parking will be prohibited in the 100’ section as work is in progress.
Private renovations continue at the Kimball Garage with occupancy expected in late 2017 or early 2018.
The infrastructure project improvements from Treasure Mountain Inn to Grappa are expected to continue in 2018.
Our partners at Park City municipal provide regular updates to construction projects in the City in the monthly Backhoe Report. Take a look at the interactive report to learn more about improvements expected in Park City this construction season.
