From their humble beginnings in 1989 as Utah's first brew pub, Wasatch Beers continues to be a pioneer in the industry.  Wasatch Beers Brewery was started by Greg Shirf in 1986 and named teh operation after the Wasatch Mountains that are just east of Salt Lake City.  As a pioneer in the Utah beer industry, Shirf proposed a bill to the Utah Legislature in 1988 that would make brew pubs legal in Utah. There are now more than 12 thriving brew pubs in the state thanks to Schirf and the bill's sponsor, Senator Mike Demeitrick of Price, Utah.

Through the years, Wasatch Beers have made the most our of Utah's political's landscape and current events and have named their beers to reflect their surroundings.  Polygamy Porter, Saint Provo Girl and their 1st Amendment Lager all poke fun at Utah's culture.  From t-shirs, hates to glassware, make a point to stop by their gift store at the Wasatch Brew Pub found at the top of Main Street to bring home a spoof on Utah's culture.  If nothing else, most find humor in their motto "We drink our share and sell the rest."
