Historic Park City Lights Up the Night with Annual Electric Parade

Park City, Utah (November 13, 2013) – Historic Park City invites spectators and participants to the annual Electric Parade scheduled for November 30, 2013 at 6 pm. The parade, which is free and open to the public, is a carnival of glittering cars, trucks, trolleys, bicycles and other creative vehicles that celebrates the kickoff of the Holiday season in Park City. Participants are asked to light up their vehicles, turn up the volume to holiday music and join the festivities as spectators take to Historic Park City’s Main Street for a colorful glow of holiday cheer. Participants have the chance to win Historic Park City Gift Cards in one of five categories, awarded by a panel of local judges.

“Saturday, November 30 is Small Business Saturday and is the perfect day to launch the Holiday season in Historic Park City,” said Alison Butz, Executive Director of the Historic Park City Alliance. “The Electric Parade will begin immediately following the lighting of the official Town Christmas Tree in Miners Park and the lighting of the Main Street lights.  Everything from bikes and golf carts to trucks and trailers are welcome to parade through Historic Park City and spread a bit of holiday cheer to spectators.”

Participants will meet at City Park on November 30th at 5:45 pm and depart for Main Street at 6pm. The route will proceed up Park Avenue, to the top of Main Street, down Swede Alley, across Heber Avenue and conclude on lower Main Street. Ideas on how to decorate your vehicle using portable batteries or car batteries are available online. There is no entry fee to participate, but participants must register by November 29th by emailing Meisha Lawson at meisha@historicparkcityutah.com.

HISTORIC PARK CITY: 'THE MAIN ATTRACTION'

With a thriving business district that boasts more than 250 shops, lodges, restaurants, resort and cultural activities, art galleries and signature events, it's no doubt that Historic Park City is "The Main Attraction." The Historic Park City Alliance (HPCA) is dedicated to promoting Park City's Main Street and surrounding area as a viable, vital and dynamic place to live, work and play while also encouraging business development and enhancing activities that benefit the district.

Nestled in the valley bordered by Deer Valley Resort on one side and ski in, ski out access to Park City Mountain Resort on the other, it is the heart and soul of our mountain town and the epicenter of all that is fun and spontaneous. Historic Park City serves as the backdrop to Park City's annual marquee events including the Sundance Film Festival, Park City Arts Festival, Park City Food & Wine Classic and Savor the Summit. Favorite locals' activities on Main Street include the Park Silly Sunday Market and Friday Night Gallery Stroll.
