Main Street Water Line Improvement Project Updates

Project Update: as of Friday, May 23, 2025

Crews continue to make progress replacing fire lines and water service lines to individual properties as Phase III of the Main Street Water Line replacement project. The specific areas crews are working include:

• All and water service lines replaced from 5th Street to 250 Main Street

• Trenches and crossings were patch-paved from 5th Street to 250 Main Street

• Main Street will be swept and cleaned before the holiday weekend

• No work Memorial Day, Monday, May 26

Work Planned for Week of May 27 (starting Tuesday):

• Continue sidewalk repairs; temporary surfaces will be provided where needed

• Install/replace five remaining fire lines and connect new line at Swede Alley before abandoning the old line

• Raise 50 water valve boxes between 5th Street and Swede Alley (cut asphalt, raise boxes, pave collars)

• Pave from 250 Main to Swede Alley and mill/pave 5th Street (Park Ave to Main Street)

• Main Street will reopen to vehicles after this work; crews will shift to 4th Street for new sewer line installation

• Remaining work on Main Street includes repairing sidewalks, warranty fixes, punch list, and prep for June 24 slurry seal
