DeVon: A Solo Art Exhibition

Having collaborated and been mentored by the late Steve Kaufman, former art assistant to Andy Warhol, DeVon traces his artistic roots directly back to the father of American Pop Art. Through Kaufman’s guidance, DeVon has honed his craft to create pop art that not only honors but also innovates Pop Art's fundamental ethos. Much like Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and other iconic figures, DeVon takes the so-called “low art” of comics and everyday consumer imagery and elevates it to the realm of high art. 

But DeVon doesn’t just mimic the past; he reimagines these images, pushing them into an otherworldly space that transforms them into Gods, Goddesses, and secular saints, immortalizing these cultural figures in ways that transcend the ordinary. He connects with his subjects in their moment of truth, their eternal “now moment” when the past is gone and the future does not yet exist. “I’m trying to hit that note and tell the hero’s story (because) when you hit that moment of truth, you inspire others.”
