HPCA Overhaul of Main Street to Begin Week of April 22

WHAT: The first phase of the Historic Park City Alliance’s 10-year upgrade of Main Street launches next week, when Questar Gas is expected to begin replacing a 60-year-old gas main with four-inch plastic pipe.

The project is expected to take six weeks: first on the east side of Main Street at Fourth Street, and working downhill to Fifth Street in front of the post office; then on the west side of Main Street at Fifth Street, and going toward the Claimjumper Hotel.

Businesses in those sections of Main Street will be connected to the new plastic gas main two at a time. They may experience intermittent interruptions in their gas service.

Questar storage and dumpsters will be placed in Swede Alley, within a construction yard allocated for Miller Paving.

WHERE: The east side of Main Street between Fourth and Fifth streets, and the west side of Main Street between Fifth Street and the Claimjumper Hotel.

WHEN: The week of Monday, April 22. The project is expected to take six weeks.
