Kyriaki Birkeland Book Signing

Join us in welcoming local author Kyriaki Birkeland, celebrating the release of her children's book, Motherhood is Big Enough.

About the book: 

After a traumatic birth and long, painful recovery, Kyriaki Birkeland started to notice that she wasn't the only one struggling with the emotional and physical transition into new motherhood. More and more she heard stories of moms who were suffering from either physical or emotional scars of motherhood, and often both. Wanting to find a way to love, encourage and support these busy and overwhelmed moms, Kyriaki started to write. Soon, Motherhood is Big Enough was born. 

Motherhood is Big Enough supports baby's cognitive, social and language development through repetitive words and a rhythmic cadence. It also helps baby's developing brain and eyes through beautiful high contrast illustrations. Lastly, it promotes postpartum bonding for mom and baby when they read it together. But most importantly, it allows moms to feel seen and heard and tells them that even if some parts of life may have to take a backseat for a little while, the job they're doing in this season - motherhood - is big enough. 

About the Author: 

Kyriaki is the mom of two precious boys and a baby girl. She is married to her wonderful husband, Brant. Together they live with their dog Pickles in Ogden, UT where they enjoy hiking, sports and pretty much any other outdoor activities. Kyriaki spends her days playing, snuggling and loving her family - when she isn't acting, writing or producing her podcast, the denmother podcast. 

About the Illustrator: 

Jennilyn has two kids, a boy and a girl, who love to "draw like Mommy.” She is married to an amazing and supportive partner, Andrew. They live in Ogden, UT where she works as a surface pattern designer. This is her first children’s book.
